Sikiza privacy policy
This policy explains how the Android app Sikiza (package com.redzoc.sikiza) handles your information. Sikiza is a voice community app: people join communities and talk by recording short voice posts and replies. Sikiza is made by RedZoc, which is run by Ramees Muhammed, an individual developer in Kochi, Kerala, India.
In short
- You can listen without an account. An account is needed only to post, reply, join, report or get notifications.
- Accounts use Google sign-in. Other people see only your display name, your voice bio, your languages and what you post. They never see your email address.
- Voice posts and replies in a community can be heard by anyone using Sikiza.
- You can delete your account inside the app. Your profile, posts and replies are deleted with it.
- Your information is not sold and is not used for advertising.
Information you give us
When you sign in and take part, Sikiza stores:
- From your Google account: your email address and Google account ID, used only to sign you in and to contact you about your account. Your Google name and photo are not shown in Sikiza.
- Profile: the display name you choose (it does not have to be your real name), an optional voice bio of up to 30 seconds, and the languages you speak.
- Voice posts and replies: your recordings, their optional text titles, and when you posted them.
- Communities: the communities you create, join, leave or mute, and the moderators you add.
- Reports and blocks: reports you make (with an optional voice note) and the people you block. People you block or report are not told who did it.
- Age confirmation: that you confirmed you are 18 or over, and that you accepted the Sikiza terms and house rules.
Information collected automatically
- Listening progress: which posts you have heard, so the app can play only new posts.
- Notification settings and a notification token: if you turn on notifications, your phone's Firebase Cloud Messaging token, so replies and summaries can reach your phone.
- Server logs: when the app talks to our server, the server briefly records technical details (such as the time, the address requested and your internet address) to keep the service working and secure.
Sikiza does not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
Permissions
- Microphone: used only while you record a post, reply or voice bio. Nothing is recorded at any other time.
- Notifications: asked after sign-in, when you first join a community or post. You can turn notifications off at any time.
Information stored on your phone
Sikiza keeps your settings (such as playback speed) and unsent recording drafts on your phone. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Who can see what
- Anyone using Sikiza, even without an account, can hear posts and replies in a community and see the poster's display name.
- Anyone using Sikiza can see your profile: display name, voice bio, languages, the communities you share with them and the date you joined.
- Community moderators and the Sikiza admin can see reports about their community and can remove posts and members.
- Nobody else in the app sees your email address.
How your information is used
Only to run Sikiza: to sign you in, show your profile, store and play voice posts, send notifications you turned on, keep communities safe (reports, blocks and limits on new accounts), and answer your questions. Sikiza evens out the loudness of recordings on the server; it does not make transcripts of what you say.
Where it is stored, and who processes it
- Amazon Web Services (Mumbai region, India): our server, database, voice recordings and backups.
- Google Firebase: sign-in (Firebase Authentication) and notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
These companies process the information on our behalf. Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Information is shared with others only when the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Your account and posts: until you delete them or your account.
- Deleted posts and removed content: removed from the app at once, kept for up to 30 days for appeals and legal requests, then deleted.
- Backups: kept for up to 30 days, then deleted. Information you delete disappears from backups within that time.
- Server logs: kept only as long as needed to keep the service working and secure.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Me, then Delete account, and confirm. Your profile, voice bio, posts, replies and community memberships are deleted. You can also email info@redzoc.com from your Google account's email address and ask us to delete your account. Full steps: Delete your Sikiza account.
Your rights
You can see and change your profile in the app, delete your posts, and delete your account. To ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or anything else about your information, email info@redzoc.com. If you are in India, you may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Age
Sikiza is for people aged 18 and over. You confirm your age when you sign in. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, it is deleted.
Changes to this policy
If Sikiza changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated first, the effective date above will change, and important changes will be announced in the app.
