Sikiza terms and house rules
These terms apply when you use the Android app Sikiza. Sikiza is made by RedZoc, which is run by Ramees Muhammed, an individual developer in Kochi, Kerala, India. In these terms, "we" means RedZoc and "you" means the person using Sikiza.
By signing in to Sikiza you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, you can still listen without an account, but you can't post, reply or join communities.
In short
- Be kind. No harassment, hate, sexual content, scams or spam.
- You must be 18 or over to sign in.
- What you post in a community can be heard by anyone using Sikiza.
- Your recordings stay yours. You let Sikiza store them and play them to listeners.
- Moderators and the Sikiza admin can remove posts and members who break the rules.
House rules
These rules apply in every community. Community moderators may add their own rules, but they can't allow anything these rules forbid.
- No harassment or bullying. Don't insult, threaten or target anyone.
- No hate. Nothing that attacks people for their religion, caste, race, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or age.
- No sexual content.
- No scams, spam or advertising. Don't sell, collect money, or post the same thing again and again.
- Nothing dangerous. No threats of violence, nothing that encourages self-harm, nothing illegal.
- Respect privacy. Don't share someone else's phone number, address or recordings without their permission.
- Be yourself. Don't pretend to be another person or organisation.
If someone talks about harming themselves, please report the post. Sikiza is not an emergency service: in an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in India).
Your account
- You sign in with your Google account. Keep it secure: what happens through your account is your responsibility.
- You must be 18 or over. You confirm your age when you sign in.
- Your display name must not pretend to be someone else or break the house rules.
- You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your Sikiza account).
Your posts
- You own what you record. By posting, you give RedZoc permission to store your recordings, make their loudness even, and play them to anyone using Sikiza, for as long as they are on Sikiza. This permission ends when you delete them or your account, apart from the short time explained in the privacy policy.
- You are responsible for what you post. Only post recordings you have the right to share.
- Open communities: anyone using Sikiza can listen to posts and replies in a community, even without an account.
Moderation
- Reports: you can report a post, reply, person or community. Reports are reviewed by the community's moderators or by the Sikiza admin, usually within 24 hours.
- Automatic hiding: a post reported by three different people is hidden until someone reviews it.
- Limits for new accounts: up to 10 posts a day in the first week.
- Community moderators can remove posts and replies, mute a member for 1 or 7 days, and remove and ban members from their community.
- The Sikiza admin can remove any post, community or member, and can suspend accounts that break these terms.
- Communities you create: you can create up to 3. You moderate them and must enforce the house rules there.
- If you think something was removed by mistake, email info@redzoc.com within 30 days.
Beta
Sikiza is in beta. Features may change, things may break, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We may change or end features, or Sikiza itself; if Sikiza closes, we will tell users in the app first.
Liability
Sikiza is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it working and safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Posts are the views of the people who record them, not of RedZoc. As far as the law allows, RedZoc is not responsible for losses caused by using Sikiza or by what other people post.
Ending
You can stop using Sikiza and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Kochi, Kerala, have jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here and the effective date above will change. Important changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
